Summary of my weight loss:
Loss 18 kg + 25.5 inches in 10 MONTHS with 2 Herbalife shakes + 1 normal meal!
Loss another 1 kg + 24.1 inches after I stopped taking Herbalife shakes.
To date, I have lost a total of 19 kg + 49.6 inches of my body.
I'm currently taking 2-3 normal meals per day.
I'm no longer dependent on Herbalife Shakes for more than 5 years.

Day 1 sy amik Psyllium Husk ni.. on June 12th 2010. Buat masa skang dah masuk Day 13 amik Psyllium Husk.

sy beli Psyllium Husk ni kat Carrefour dr brand Nature Quest.

"Nature Quest's Natural Psyllium Husk is derived from crushed seeds of the Plantago ovata plant, which is native to parts of Asia. It is soluble in water and when soaked, it will expand and become mucilaginous. Hence, it should be consumed immediately after mixing. If the mixture turns into a heavy viscous quality, it can still be consumed with help of a spoon."

Servings Suggestion:
1. First, drink a glass of water.
2. Then, mix the desired amount of psylliums husks (1 ot 2 tspn) into another glass of water or fruit juice and drink immediately. (kaco dulu sblm minum ya.. ) :P

Suggested amount...
ADULTS: 3 g (~ 2 teaspoons) per day
CHILDREN: 1.5 g (~ 1 teaspoons) per day

My Tips

. kalo dah minum ujung2 gelas, ade sisa2 yg tertinggal kat tepi2 gelas, pls add water, kaco2 sket.. pastikan yg melekat kat tepi gelas dah mix dlm air. minum sampai abis. tak baik membazir. :P
. kalo kebykn Psyllium Husk berada kat dasar gelas, so bila dah minum 1/2.. 1/2 yg tinggal akan jd pekat yg amat kan? minum 1/4 dulu.. pestu tambah air sket.. dan minum sampai abis.
. kalo ikut rules nye, kene minum 1 gelas air.. pestu baru minum air yg ber-psyllium husk kan? sy dah try 2-2 kaedah.. minum sblm dan selepas.. dan 2-2 boleh dibuat. asalkan korang minum la air tu. jgn trus tak minum ok? kalo tak cukup air.. nnt perut cramp.
. for those yg baru nak mula amik Psyllium Husk, boleh start slow dulu, amik 1/2 tspn utk breakfast, pestu 1/2 tspn amik lepas dinner.
. oh ya.. sblm abih mkn tu, pastikan ade ruang extra.. sbb kalo perut dah penuh dgn mknn, mmg tak muat utk isi Psyllium Husk. percayalah! :P

My Comments

. lepas amik Psyllium Husk ni mmg prasan la sy punye 'output' lembut2 aje dan bila kuar tu lancar je. ehehe. big business sy, tetap 2-3 hari sekali.psyllium husk ni bukan julap. so tade la ari2 atau 2-3 kali dlm sehari. bukan yeh.
. tp korang akan rase a bit gassy, ini normal, sbb pape food yg HIGH in fibre/carbs will caused u to have gas. why? because it contains complex sugar which cannot be digested. ini sy ade mention under soalan kat formsprings, "Why does eating cabbage makes me gassy?" . korang akan terkentut2 la. harum atau tak, tu toksah pk. pls think about how happy your intestines are now? :))

My Recipes

kalo ikutkan.. just mix dlm air kan? boleh cuba yg basic dulu.. pestu.. try recipe2 yg lain. sy ade tambah 1 extra kat bwh.

Other liquid: plain water, fruit juices, milk, yogurt drink, water, soups and even milkshakes/HL shakes.

a) basic recipe...
250 ml H²0 (warm/cold)
X tspn of Psyllium Husk
*optional: add honey as sweetener

remarks : rase nye mcm barli yg tak manis. eheh. sy prefer guna air suam bila minum Psyllium Husk ni. kalo gune air sejuk, rase mcm payah nak telan. kalo rase nak manis sket boleh letak honey.

b) mix with fruit juice / kordial (Day 7)
250 ml H²0 (warm/cold)
X tspn of Psyllium Husk
2 drops of lemon juice / or any juice

remarks : bg sy.. pape yg masam works best. sbb overpower rasa Psyllium Husk yg tawar tu.

c) mix with teamix (Day 11)
250 ml H²0 (warm)
1/4 or 1/2 tspn of Teamix
X tspn of Psyllium Husk
*optional: add honey as sweetener

remarks : ini mmg dasar pemalas nak minum asing2.. :))

d) mix into milkshakes (Day 2)
Choc Banana Milkshake
250 ml milk
1 medium size banana
X tspn of Psyllium Husk
2 scp milo

remarks : mmm.. SEDAP! tp stok pisang plak tak berkekalan. :P

e) mix into chocolate drink (Day 9)
250 ml H²0 (warm)
1/4 tspn Psyllium Husk
2 scp Milo

remarks : lebih kurang mcm letak nestum/oatmeal dlm milo la.

f) topping on cereal (Day 4 and Day 10)
1/2 bowl of cereal of your choice
1/2 bowl milk or just enough to cover your cereal
X tspn of Psyllium Husk
*optional: add honey as sweetener

remarks : haa.. ini lg satu cara nak consume psyllium husk. same mcm tips sy kat atas, lepas minum tu, tuang air dlm bowl.. swirl around.. pastikan seme psyllium husk tak tertinggal. :D

g) topping on cereal (Day 15)
250 ml of hot water
1 packet of instant mushroom soup powder
1/2 tspn of Psyllium Husk
*optional: sprinkle parmesan cheese

remarks : yum yum yum! sape2 yg susah nak telan psyllium husk, cara ni paling berkesan! :))

h) mix with overnight oatmeal (view all recipes here)
5 tbsp of oats
1 tbsp of honey/sugar
1/2 tspn of Psyllium Husk
fill in milk into jar until full

remarks : paling flexible out of all snacks, sbb boleh mix dgn buah, dan macam2 ingredients lain. sila jenguk link Overnight Oatmeal utk tgk kesemua recipe yg sy dah buat.

Psyllium Husks, also referred to as ispaghula or isabgol is derived from the husks of Plantago ovata seed, a plant native to India and Iran. It contains a high level of soluble dietary fiber (0.7g soluble fiber in 1g of psyllium husk) and has been studied as a cholesterol lowering agent.

Psyllium husk is a complex carbohydrate found as a coating to the seeds of the natural psyllium herb. It is used for a variety of ailments, but most frequently used as a laxative or part of a colon cleansing regimen. Psyllium husk is beneficial in helping with weight loss, maintaining healthy blood pressure levels, maintaining good cholesterol, cleansing the digestive tract and colon and helping with other ailments such as irritable bowel syndrome.

Cholesterol
Psyllium husk has been approved by the FDA as a source of soluble fiber that helps to lower the risk of heart disease when combined with a diet that is low in cholesterol and saturated fats. It is also effective in lowering unhealthy levels of cholesterol, known as low density lipoprotein.

To lower levels of cholesterol, use one or two rounded tbsp. of natural psyllium husk powder combined with oatmeal for a nutritious and beneficial breakfast. A simple recipe for breakfast may include 2 cups rolled oats, 1 cup skim milk, a handful of raisins, 2 tbsp. psyllium husk and 2 tsp. sugar. Combine all the ingredients into a bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes or until cooked thoroughly.

Since psyllium husk is an absorbent fiber that draws out liquid from the intestines, be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep hydrated and avoid constipation.

Colon Cleanse

Using psyllium husk recipes for colon cleanse is simple, because you can add the powder to any form of liquid. Do not eat the powder alone, because it is not digestible and without water it may cause choking.

To use psyllium husk, sprinkle 1 or 2 teapoon into any liquid, including fruit juices, milk, water, soups and even milkshakes. This will help you increase fiber intake easily and make it tastier to consume. After every dose of psyllium husk, whether in capsule or powdered form, drink one or two 8-oz. glasses of water to provide plenty of hydration.
